Quitting in November or December usually means giving up holiday pay. Start with Nussbaum on or before the December 14 orientation — the last one of the year — and you keep the holidays, the $3,000 van bonus, and a way out if it isn't the fit.

Holiday pay, no 30-day wait

The usual rule is 30 days on the job before holiday pay. Right now, that wait is waived. Incoming OTR drivers are paid $290–$320 for the day.

$3,000, then it's $1,000

December 14 is the last orientation where OTR van drivers get our $3,000 transition bonus. January 4 drops it to down to $1,000.

$2,000 if you leave

Early Exit stays in place. Finish orientation, haul for 30 days, and if you leave before day 90, Nussbaum pays $2,000 to help you move on.

Early Exit is for drivers who choose to leave between day 30 and day 90. Not available to trainees, rehires, or involuntary terminations.

Nussbaum pays eight holidays a year at one of the highest rates in the industry but usually requires a 30-day wait before you're eligible.

Start by November 16

Paid for all five. That includes Thanksgiving, even though you haven't been here 30 days — plus the day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's.

Start December 14

Thanksgiving has passed. You're paid for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

For drivers who start on or before the December 14, 2026 orientation. After that, holiday pay goes back to the 30-day wait. New Year's Day is January 1, 2027.

OTR van only

Our $3,000 Transition Bonusends Dec 14.

December 14 is the last start date for the current transition bonus. Beginning with the January 4, 2027 orientation, it drops to $1,000.
